This beautiful illustration of an angel holding incense is over 100 years old and makes for a very handsome leather bookmark. The detail on the angel’s gown, wings and hair is lovely and creates a sense of texture without being overly complicated. These lovely angel bookmarks are crafted out of quality leather for a long life of use. Each of these angel designs would also work as a luggage tag or as a decorative accessory to a present. Simply add a luggage loop through the provided hole for a nice luggage tag, or you can make a stylish bookmark by running, ribbon or string through the hole instead.

Made out of Leather

These bookmarks are made out of handle selected veggie tan cow leather.

Why We Use Leather

  • Leather lasts for years.
  • Leather can be composted.
  • Leather is durable, yet thin and flexible.
  • Veggie tanned leather is tanned traditionally using plants.
  • Leather is a byproduct of the meat industry and even if you don't eat meat many of our animal companions do. Rather than let anything go to waste we stand by the First Nation tradition of using all of the parts of an animal if it is killed.
  • Leather is a traditional First Nation medium and our artist grew up using it since her parents are both registered tribal members.

Materials We Avoid

We are always looking for other durable yet compostable materials. We are following plant based leathers but at this time have not found one that doesn't contain plastic or resin.

  • Synthetic leathers (faux leather) when engraved release toxic fumes
  • Acrylic when engraved also releases toxic fumes

Made in Minnesota

Raven King Crafts is a small business that actually makes all the wood and leather items here in Minnesota, USA. We try to make things that both serve a purpose and will bring years of use or enjoyment. Whenever possible we also try to use materials that are compostable which is why we have so many veggie tanned leather, birch plywood and wood items.

All items ship from the 55369 area code.

Thank you for supporting a small business.
