Read Along Kids Books on Kanopy No Ads

If you need a moment and something safe for kids to sit and safely watch for a little bit these are ad free read-a-longs that you can access for free with if you are a member of most libraries or some Universities.

 

What is Kanopy?

Kanopy is a streaming service that partners with libraries and universities to provide free access to a wide variety of movies, shows and read alongs. The adult / older kid section using tickets (points) to limit access month to month but the kid section has no such limiter. You WILL need to create an account tied to either a library or a university. Once you log in you can browse their catalog, and it is pretty expansive. They do get in newer titles but they don't have exclusivity like Disney+ or Netflix so they once they get something pretty much all the other streaming services also have a chance to buy rights to it. However since it is no cost to you why not check it out? Best of all as of 10/11/24 Kanopy is AD FREE. Which is really nice since many other streaming services charge you and then still show ads.

How to find your local library. If your local library doesn't have it you can always see if another library system by you does and will let you join. In some states if you are a resident you can also sign up at other libraries, at others they might charge. Everyday-Reading.com has a good article on this and they found some as low as $8/year. Just be sure to double check on Kanopy that they are included before you call and sign up.
