Loom Finishing Ideas - Wood Burning Your Loom

Wood Burning your Loom

Wood burning (pyrography) is a wonderful art form and can allow for some really neat designs. Your loom is in fact birch plywood and therefore you can absolutely engrave or burn it.

You shouldn't need to sand your loom since it comes sanded with a 220 grit or finer paper but you may want to wipe it off with a damp cloth to make sure it is clean.

When it comes to wood burning we suggest using a pencil to first trace out your design before burning it. That way they pencil markings not used can easily be erased. We also suggest sealing your work after, we prefer a clear acrylic spray paint but you can use whatever you want.
